How to Roll a Cross Joint?

How to Roll a Joint

If you’re willing to be a true stoner but aren’t sure how to roll a cross joint, don’t worry, we have got you covered! We’ve gathered a list of simple steps that will help you in what you’re looking for. We are completely aware of how bad you’re wanting to get baked so without wasting any time, let’s get to work.

The good news is that the supplies you usually need for rolling the regular joint, are pretty much what you’re going to need for preparing your cross joint as well. But since the cross joint is something even greater than an average joint, you will need more of them. Here is all that you’re going to need:

  • Your top favourite strain of weed
  • Cannabis grinder
  • Both large and regular-sized rolling papers
  • Something thin and sharp like a pin or a needle
  • A pair of scissors

Step 1 is to roll a fatty. It will require some large rolling papers so keep all of your supplies at hand. The large-sized rolling papers can be easily distinguished from the regular-sized ones. Just to make sure we’re on the same page, by large we mean the thickness of the papers, not the length. And if this is your first time trying to roll your cross joint, you might want to have some extra supplies of rolling papers.

So start by rolling a fat joint that looks a little less like your regular joint and a lot more like a blunt. The fatter it is, the easier it’s going to be for you to work with it. And when you’re rolling this fatty, make sure to leave a wee bit of an empty twist towards the end of your joint.

Step 2 is about placing a small piece of cardboard at the inhaling end of the joint. It’s a pro tip that almost all pros use. It’s most likely placed so that it acts like a mouthpiece that will also allow you to consume your joint, all the way to the end.

To make this mouthpiece, all you have to do is to cut a piece of cardboard and roll it in a cylindrical shape. Make sure that the cardboard strip isn’t too long or too wide. Ideally, it should be around the same length as your fat joint.

Step 3 involves rolling a thinner joint. Using the smaller rolling paper, roll a visibly thinner joint. This method works great as it’s a lot easier to put together the two joints when one of them is fat like a blunt and the other one is kinda like a regular joint. Once you’ve made yourself a few cross joints, then you’ll be able to know how fat or thin you want your cross joint to be. But for now, a thin (second) joint will work best.

Similarly, how you left someplace at the end of your fat joint, leave some twisty room at both ends of your thinner joint. Doing this right now instead of later would be recommended.

Once both of your joints are ready, step four is when you’ll grab your pin or needle to poke a small hole in your fat joint. This step requires focus, don’t rush it, you might end up ruining your day. So very carefully, poke a small hole through the first joint. Now that the hole is there, try moving your needle in such a way that it starts making the hole wider. Again, be very careful while doing so.

On the other hand, make sure that the hole doesn’t become too wide. In fact the smaller the hole, the better the thinner the joint will fit into it. So notice the size of your thinner joint and then keep the hole slightly smaller than that.

Now that you’re done with your fat doobie, put it aside because we’re moving to the very important next step.

Step 4 is to grab your second joint and poke a small hole, right in the middle of this one. You’ll do well to keep it smaller at first and then work slowly to make it slightly bigger.

Once you’re done with drilling holes in both your joints, the exciting part of assembling your joint comes to action. If you’re right-handed, take the fat joint in your left hand and the thinner one in your right and start inserting the thin joint into the fat one. Because of obvious reasons, be gentle while doing so. Keep inserting it till the little hole that you poked in the thin joint gets inside the fat joint. That hole will allow the airflow and without that, you won’t be able to inhale any of it (the thin one).

You’re almost there. The final step is about sealing the deal. Utilize your rolling papers to wrap the joining area (where the thin joints are inserted in the fat one). Carefully wrap them all up till you’re satisfied. Remember, the sealing of the two joints isn’t to make it look more presentable. It’s done to make the cross joint airtight. That means when you’re smoking your cross joint, you’re not inhaling the air and the joint, you will be inhaling only what’s good. So properly seal your cross joint and see if it still needs some wrapping. If it does, we’re sure you’ll have pieces of some rolling papers that can be put to use here.

If you don’t, that means that you’re done making your cross joint and you’re ready to light up and go flying. Light the twisty end of your fat joint before you light the other two ends of your thin joints. Keep taking small puffs as you’re lighting the ends of your cross joints.

And that’s how you do it. Enjoy your cross joint and see how you like it. Give it a few tries before making up your mind. If you like it, continue with it. And if you don’t, you can always switch back to the conventional way of getting high.
